Brief History of CBF

The Caywood Brown Foundation(CBF) was created based on experience of working in the community. The trustees who are five in number are local people and indigenes of the Niger Delta. CBF was developed because of the specific needs of the young  people in the Niger Delta to improve their knowledge of risks involved in the transmission of HIV and is committed to bring about positive change in the lives of the young people in Niger Delta, support the work of saving lives and drastically reduce the burden of HIV/AIDS among them.

Caywood Brown Foundation has so far covered parts of Port Harcourt local Government area of Rivers State mainly villages of Ogunabali and Elekahia. Workshops were held and lectures given on the causes and prevention of HIV/AIDS including talks on the care of People Living with HIV (PLWHA).

Voluntary and confidential counselling and testing were carried out. The Caywood Brown Foundation have found out through research that the fear of exclusion and being driven away from home by parents has augmented fear of disclosure.
