Research carried out made us at Caywood Brown Foundation aware of a path Youths can use in gaining employment and climb the employability ladder with more ease. This path is called Volunteerism. The Caywood Brown Volunteerism Program was born in collaboration with LNLG.
On 10th of October after we had screened over 100 CV's we called 25 youths who had completed their first degrees or Higher National Diplomas for an Aptitude and written test which ultimately led to an interview from where 12 youths were chosen. We are also partnering with PHCCMIA (Port-Harcourt Chambers of Commerce Mines, Industry and Agriculture) they would be helping us place the youths in the offices of their members.
A fortnight later, all successful candidates were invited for a seminar at the PHCCIMA building. The Seminar was to teach them work ethics and what to expect from the workplace and how to ensure they become people who are adding value to organisations they are posted to.
